Pray for IndiaPublished December 1, 2005
The government of India has granted permission to Gideons International to come to India to distribute Bibles. I ask The Baptist Courier readers to continue to pray for this area of our world. It has a large population with multi-religions, the largest number of Christians outside the U.S.; it is the nation that may house the oldest Christian church outside the Mediterranean area, and where the modern Christian missionary movement began. British pastor William Carey used Isaiah 55:4 as a launch pad and challenged Christians for centuries to “attempt great things for God and expect great things from God” before he left for India. What a time to be alive. What a challenge, what a time to pray, what a time to watch God emerge, or pop up — anywhere. —Gardner Koch, Rock Hill
