Roy Quinton Gregg, of Greenville, 98, died April 5, 2007.

Roy Quinton Gregg

Born in Spartanburg, Gregg was a member of Cherrydale Church (formerly Morgan Memorial Baptist), Greenville, where he was pastor emeritus. He was pastor of Morgan Memorial from 1955-1965.

Other pastorates included: Lima Baptist, Travelers Rest; West Greenville Baptist; Grove Station Baptist, Piedmont; Chiquola Baptist, Honea Path; Drayton Baptist, Spartanburg; and Memorial Baptist, Kannapolis, N.C. He also served multiple churches as interim pastor in retirement and preached in nearly 400 revivals in both Carolinas during his ministry.

He was a graduate of North Greenville College and attended Erskine and Southern Baptist Theological seminaries.

Survivors include his wife, Beulah Pressley Gregg, six children, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Evie Pressley Gregg, his first wife.

Two of his sons, Troy Gregg and Ralph Gregg, are retired Baptist ministers. A daughter, Orena Buchanan, is a church organist.
