Solid Ground, based in the Lugoff-Elgin area, is a contemporary Christian rock band whose intent is to spread God's word through music with hopes that it will reach at least one person and change a life. The band's music is a mixture of acoustic and hard-rock styles with strong vocal harmony, along with energetic bass guitar riffs and driving percussion. According to the band's bio, "Our lyrics either tell of a learned experience or give a certain message pertaining to how we personally feel about our faith. Our main concern is to reach today's youth and offer guidance, friendship, and/or a shoulder to lean on, but our music is for anyone who will listen with an open mind." Drummer Andy Shook is a member of Pontiac First Baptist Church. Bandmates attend churches of other denominations in the Lugoff-Elgin area.
