Redmond elected second vice president

Eric C. Redmond, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Temple Hills, Md., has been elected second vice president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Redmond received 61.69 percent (1,765 votes) to 37.64 percent (1,077) for Bill Britt, a member of College Heights Baptist Church in Gallatin, Tenn. There were 19 disallowed ballots.
