Name changes say ‘community’

The two South Carolina Baptist retirement facilities in Darlington and Laurens are now “communities” rather than centers.

The new names are Bethea Baptist Retirement Community and Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community.

Richard McLawhorn, president of Ministries for the Aging, said the name change reflects a “Christ-centered” emphasis that recognizes Bethea and Martha Franks as communities “of love, care and faith.”
