Nicholas M. Imbastaro, 81, of Greer, a retired South Carolina pastor who enjoyed taking mission trips to Brazil with his wife, died June 4. Imbastaro was born Aug. 17, 1924, in Rochester, N.Y. He attended Furman University and was a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Seminary. He served as a pastor at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Fountain Inn, Wallace Baptist Church in Wallace, Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church in Laurens, and Norway Baptist Church in Norway. He and his wife, Annie Thackston Imbastaro, served together on several mission trips to Brazil. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church, where he taught the Lydia Sunday School Class and served as the senior citizens chaplain. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters and a granddaughter. |
