North Greenville University hosts Centrifuge camps this summerPublished June 16, 2006
Dozens of teenagers arrived on the campus of North Greenville University June 6 for Centrifuge Camp. This marks the 13th straight year the university has hosted Centrifuge, a youth camp sponsored by LifeWay Christian Resources, and M-Fuge, a sister camp that adds missions involvement to the camp experience. The camps, which will continue through July 23, are expected to attract approximately 800 teens and counselors from various churches across the Southeast each week. Groups arrive on Monday afternoons and leave campus before lunch each Saturday. “Centrifuge and M-Fuge continue the school’s mission as an institution during the summer to reach people for Christ and help teenagers develop as disciples on mission for the kingdom, wherever God leads them,” said Steve Crouse, NGU campus minister. “Last summer, 80 students came to know Christ on our campus through this ministry. Many others made significant responses to Christ’s call in their lives,” said Crouse. Centrifuge benefits the college in several ways. Many students who visit the campus through this program have enrolled in the college. Income raised from the program supports the university’s operational budget. |
