Rufus Mitchell Sr.

p>Rufus Mitchell Sr., 94, of Anderson, a Baptist minister for 65 years, died June 4 at the Abbeville Nursing Home.

Born in Greenville, he was a retired evangelist, former pastor of Gluck Mill Baptist Church in Anderson and Augusta Highway Baptist Church in Greenwood.

He was a graduate of Furman University and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Mitchell, four children, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
