Blaney celebrates centennialPublished October 20, 2005
Blaney Baptist Church, Elgin, will highlight its 100th anniversary with a homecoming celebration Oct. 23. William Coates Jr., former pastor (1980-86), will preach at the 11 a.m. service. One of 25 pastors to serve Blaney Baptist Church, Coates is now pastor of First Baptist Church, Gainesville, Ga. A centennial choir, composed of former choir members, will provide music. A homecoming concert will be presented at 2 p.m. by the Starling family in the church sanctuary. Blaney Baptist Church was organized on March 12, 1905. The current sanctuary was dedicated in March 1987. |
