Tom Tucker Tom Tucker of Rock Hill has confirmed to The Baptist Courier that he will be a candidate for president of the South Carolina Baptist Convention when the convention holds its annual session Nov. 14-15 at First Baptist Church in Taylors. Tucker, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in the York Association, will be nominated by Randall Jones of Conway, a former state convention president and the retired pastor of Langston Baptist Church in Conway. Tucker is a member of the state convention's Committee on Committees and is a former president of the South Carolina Baptist Pastor's Conference. Election of new convention officers is scheduled during the final session of the convention, at 9:35 a.m. on Nov. 15. |
